A nurse strike at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the first of its kind at the Boston hospital and the largest in Massachusetts history, is bringing Asian American nurses out, some for the first time.

Obesity is not an equal opportunity health problem. It varies greatly by race, ethnicity, sex and where people live – and racial minorities are often hardest hit by the nation’s obesity crisis.

Tufts Medical Center has awarded more than $1.7 million in grants to nine Boston-based nonprofit organizations, including several in Chinatown. The medical center says the grants will be used over three years to address “unmet” health and health access needs that were highlighted in its 2026-2028 Community Health Needs Assessment. Through the grants, the community groups will support culturally competent behavioral health, social-emotional wellness, and substance use disorder

Tufts Medical Center in Boston has opened an expanded Pediatric Asian clinic that it says will better serve thousands of Asian children and families in the area.
